 Get to + สถานที่  = ไปถึง

ตัวอย่าง

I get to the hospital. ฉันไปถึงโรงพยาบาล

I get to school. ฉันไปถึงโรงเรียน

I need to get to the airport by 9.00 am. ฉันต้องไปถึงสนามบิน 9 โมง

Get home / there / here ไม่ต้องเติม to

I have to get home. ฉันต้องไปถึงบ้าน

I hope you get there. ฉันหวังว่าคุณจะไปถึงที่นั่น

They helped us to get here. พวกเขาช่วยเราให้มาถึงที่นี่

Get to + V1 = ได้ทำ

John gets to be a boss for one day. จอห์นได้ตำแหน่งเป็นเจ้านายหนึ่งวัน

นอกจากนี้ยังมีสำนวน Get อีกมากมาย เช่น

Get up – ตื่นนอน  หรือจะแปลว่า ลุกขึ้น

Get used to – หมายถึง คุ้นเคย คุ้นชิน กับอะไรบางอย่าง เช่น  It’s so hot outside. ข้างนอกร้อนอย่างแรงส์ 

Get used to it. Weren't you born here? ชินได้แล้ว ทำยังกะไม่ได้เกิดที่นี่ 

Get a job – หางานทำ เช่น You should go get a job if you’re doing nothing.

Get into - หมายถึง ติด  เช่น These days, John is really getting into playing football. ช่วงนี้จอห์นนี่ติดเล่นฟุตบอลงอมเลย

I have been getting into painting recently. ฉันเริ่มสนใจวาดรูปเมื่อไม่นานที่ผ่านมา

Get started – ใช้ เวลาจะเริ่มต้น(ทำ)อะไรซักอย่าง เช่น  Alright, let’s get started. 

Get together - คือ นัดมาเจอกัน มาพบปะ กันนั่นเอง 

เช่น Let’s get together this weekend. My Wife is out of town. เจอกันหน่อยอาทิตย์นี้ว่างมาก เมียไม่อยู่

Get to know –  มีโอกาสได้...

เช่น to get to know someone ก็คือ ได้มีโอกาสทำความรู้จักกับใครสักคน 

เช่น I’m starting a new job next week. Hopefully, I’ll get to know a lot of people. อาทิตย์หน้าเริ่มงานใหม่แล้ว หวังว่าจะได้ทำความรู้จักคนที่ทำงานใหม่เยอะ ๆ นะ
