Articles A, An, The:

 ปลดล็อกความลับของ Articles (a, an, the) ในภาษาอังกฤษ!

🧐 Articles:

  • ใช้ A เมื่อคำนามนั้นเริ่มต้นด้วย เสียงพยัญชนะ (consonant sound) เช่น a book, a car, a university (แม้ 'u' จะเป็นสระ แต่เสียงออกเป็น 'ย' ซึ่งเป็นพยัญชนะ)

  • ใช้ An เมื่อคำนามนั้นเริ่มต้นด้วย เสียงสระ  (vowel sound) ซึ่งได้แก่ a, e, i, o, u ตัวอย่างเช่น an apple, an umbrella, an hour (แม้ 'h' จะเป็นพยัญชนะ แต่เสียงแรกที่ออกคือ 'อ' ซึ่งเป็นสระ)

Could you pass me the salt?

The sun, the moon, the Earth

I saw a cat. The cat was sleeping.

(The Nile, The Sahara Desert, The Philippines)

May and Can

May I turn on your radio?

แต่ถ้าเราถามว่า "Can I turn on your radio?"

Can you finish doing your homework before dinner?

Can you believe The Meteorological Department said it may rain tomorrow?
